Privacy Policy

Extra Date Night (“we”, “us”) helps you discover, plan, and remember dates. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and iOS app, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the product needs, we don't sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, username, email address, and a password (stored as a salted hash — we never see or store your plain-text password).
Content you create. Date plans, ratings, notes, favorites, and photos you attach to memories. Photos are stored so that only your account (and a partner account you explicitly link) can access them through the product.
Location. If you choose to share it, we store your approximate location (city and coordinates) to recommend date ideas near you. Location is captured only when you grant the iOS permission or set it yourself, never continuously in the background. You can see and update your saved location in the app's Profile tab at any time.
Usage data. Standard analytics about how the product is used (pages viewed, features used, device type) collected via Google Analytics on the website, and standard server logs (IP address, request time) kept briefly for security and rate limiting.
How we use it
We use your information to run the product: recommending nearby date ideas, syncing your plans between the app and website, linking you with your partner when you both opt in, sending date reminders you schedule on your device, and processing Premium subscriptions. We also use aggregate, de-identified usage data to improve the product. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos or plans for advertising or to train AI models.
Partner linking
If you link accounts with a partner, they can see the date ideas you save, the dates you plan, and the memories (including photos and ratings) you record. Either of you can unlink at any time from Settings; unlinking stops all future sharing.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to operate: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Google Firebase (photo storage), Google Analytics (website analytics), and Stripe (payment processing for Premium — Stripe handles your card details; we never see them). Each provider processes data only to provide their service to us.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account — including all plans, memories, photos, favorites, and your profile — directly in the iOS app (Profile → Delete account) or by emailing support@extradatenight.com. Deletion is permanent and takes effect immediately.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Most of these you can exercise directly in the product; for anything else, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
Extra Date Night is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the product or by email.
