Copyright & Takedown Requests

If we’re showing something you own, tell us and we’ll take it down.

Extra Date Night lists real events at real venues. Most of the photographs alongside those listings come from the venue’s own website or from openly licensed collections such as Wikimedia Commons, and we record the licence and photographer for each one and display the credit on the listing. Sometimes we get it wrong.

If you own a photograph or other material we’re displaying and you don’t want us to, you don’t need to hire anyone or threaten us. Send the form below or email support@extradatenight.com and we’ll remove it.

What happens after you send a notice

  1. We read every notice. Removal is our default response — we would rather drop an image than argue about one.
  2. When we remove an image we also add it to a blocklist, so our automated image sourcing can’t pick the same file up again later.
  3. We email you at the address you give us to confirm what we did.

What a notice needs to contain

Under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)), a takedown notice has to include all of the following. The form below asks for each one.

If we removed something of yours by mistake

If material you posted was removed and you believe that was an error or a misidentification, email support@extradatenight.com with a counter-notice: your signature, identification of what was removed and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, and your name, address, phone number and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district.

Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly post material that infringes someone else’s copyright.

Filing a false notice has consequences

Section 512(f) makes anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing liable for the damages and legal costs that misrepresentation causes. Please only send a notice about material you actually own or are authorised to act for.
